8 Day Lemosho Trek
Experience the thrill of conquering Africa’s Highest Peak
8 Day Lemosho Trekking Overview
Our 8-Day Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro Trek is a favorite climb up Africa’s highest mountain. It has excellent acclimatization and a very high success rate for climbers of all ages. The scenery is stunning and the ascending and descending routes are different to allow more views of the mountain.
The trek begins at Londorossi Gate, at an altitude of 2360 meters, with an approach far to the west of the mountain. It passes through a majestic rainforest where some of the region’s most unique wildlife can often be seen. The route continues up to the mountain’s third summit at Shira Ridge. From there you will cross the famed Shira plateau and see the awe-inspiring Shira Cathedral before reaching Shira camp on day three.
This allows a few days of secluded climbing overlooking some amazing terrain before connecting with Machame’s more popular (and sometimes, busy) route. After reaching the summit, you will descend by the Mweka trail, rather than retracing your steps. The final day is for descent.
The Lemosho Route is a great eight-day trek for those who have not trekked much at high altitudes, with an extra day of acclimatization, to increase chances of a successful summit. Experienced and already acclimatized mountaineers may opt for the more difficult 7-day ascent along the same Lemosho route, without the acclimatization day.

Our Reviews
Legacy Exchange Outfitters offers more than just a vacation. Eugene and his team work hard to provide their guests with a remarkable experience. However, sightseeing wild animals in their natural habitat is only part of the adventure.
