After breakfast, transfer to the local Arusha airport for a quick, scenic (1 hr, 10 min) flight to a private nature refuge in the eastern Serengeti. Enjoy hikes with your guide and a local wildlife scout, identifying rare species and teaching the kids how to distinguish animal tracks. Listen to a Maasai storyteller share the legends of her people. Find nocturnal wildlife by moonlight on a captivating night drive.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodations: Sametu Camp

Head for the iconic Serengeti, where acacia trees and granite kopjes dot the wild grasslands. Experience the best of Tanzania from your safari jeep; big cats such as lions and leopards, as well as elegant giraffes and mighty elephants. The family will be mesmerized by the Great Migration, a wonder of nature with millions of wildebeests and zebras moving over the plains and forging across rivers. Each day will be in a different area of the Serengeti as you move toward the Ngorongoro Conservation area.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodations: Into Wild Africa

After driving out of Serengeti, your family will experience the impressive Ngorongoro Crater; the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world! This crater formed from a collapsed volcano and is now a self-sustaining ecosystem with the densest predator population in all of Africa – you may be able to spot the Big 5 in a single afternoon! Camping on the Crater’s rim offers your family early morning access to its wildlife-filled floor and a stunning sunrise view.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodations: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

A day to connect with the local community and learn about the incredible people who live in Tanzania. After breakfast, depart the lovely Ngorongoro Conservation Area and drive to Banjika Secondary School. School visits are part of our program toconnect guests with local schools. There may be opportunities to play sports with the students, or for your children to attend a class along with Tanzanian students (secondary schools are conducted in English). We love for guests to share gifts with the students, but we suggest purchasing local school supplies and sanitary pads, as a more sustainable option than bringing in your luggage from abroad.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodations: Ngorongoro Farm House

After an early breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park (approx 1 hr drive). This park is famous for ancient baobab trees and some of the largest herds of elephants in all of Africa. Keep a lookout for the hundreds of bird species and big cats, too. Tarangire is known for its river that does not dry up, even during the dry seasons. This attracts plenty of zebras and impalas, as well as their predators, like lions and leopards.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodations: Tarangire Safari Lodge

In the morning, we return to Arusha town (approx 2 hrs drive, after breakfast). Enjoy a farewell lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge; this establishment has a children’s play area and a lovely garden. After, you may take a walk through the coffee plantation to stretch your legs, go souvenir shopping in town, or relax at a day-use room at Arusha Planet Lodge (located near Kilimanjaro International Airport). Your departure is likely an evening or night flight, so this is not an overnight accommodation.

Our Reviews
Legacy Exchange Outfitters offers more than just a vacation. Eugene and his team work hard to provide their guests with a remarkable experience. However, sightseeing wild animals in their natural habitat is only part of the adventure.
